My Older Sister Pat Passed Away

DeLANCEY _ Patricia M. "Pat" Caswell, 69, of DeLancey, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, April 4, 2011, at home.

The daughter of the late Norman G. and Marjorie L. (Hosier) Frey, she was born Nov. 1, 1941, on the family farm in New Kingston (Town of Roxbury,) where she grew up, was a graduate of Margaretville High School, and married George E. Caswell, 1966.

Pat lived in DeLancey for the past 40 years, and was employed as a secretary at SUNY Delhi (four years) and SUCO (24 years), retiring in 2004.

She served as secretary and chair of the Delaware County Democratic Committee; past-president of Delhi BPW; Literacy Volunteers of America; member of New Kingston Presbyterian Church and D.W. Gleason Unit 190, American Legion Auxiliary, Delhi.

In addition to her husband, of New Kingston, she is survived by a sisters, Priscilla (Raymond) Barkman, Schoharie; Lynda Haggart Richmond Virginia, Lisa Alff Hope Mills NC. Liz Hodges Richmond Virginia, Roxann Costellano Wheat Ridge CO, 4 brothers, Norman (Phyllis) Frey Jr., West Sand Lake,Andy Frey Oswego NY, David Frey IL, and Otto Frey, Accord; stepfather, Donald Monnington, New Kingston; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi, where services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, by the Rev Bert More. Burial later in Sanford Cemetery, New Kingston.

Contributions to Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, P.O. Box 88, Delhi, appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to Robert A. Peet, Delhi.

Lisa, just saw that your sister died, on my birthday, March 4th. So so sorry to hear of your loss. You come from a large family and I'm sure they were a great source of comfort and consolation.

I also never had a sister, and cannot imagine how deeply this must have hurt you.
